Its more than Just a Game, Its a Part of me. by arp

Getting along with a bunch of friends or older brothers. Attending after school /weekend time pass Lan Sessions. Going for some small scale Lan Tourneys. Experiencing great teams. Feeling the victory/ defeat. Getting addicted to the game. Starting up a clan, getting serious towards it. Practicing hard to be better. Getting scolded by parents for late night game hours but still fighting with them everyday just because you can’t resist playing. That’s probably how most of us got into gaming, Right ?

And none of us thought that just these few Counter Strike Lan Sessions would actually be the building blocks of our future coming days. Things were great when Counter Strike used to be new . There’ve been times when all of us have played till 5 am in the morning.Ah, I say, Sleepless nights <3. All of us have experienced what its like being in a team . Well, of course we’ve had the thick n thins while getting along with other 4 people inside or outside the game. But all of us have worked hard at some point of time for the team or maybe our our own selves . Developing shooting in Death Match servers for hours , playing mixed clans all day long for better game sense , if nothing then pub servers .

Each one of us has faced alot in this game , where criticism bags the first place. That’s when we actually start setting our mind to be the best . Proving ourselves to the Superior and rise against those who actually try to put you on a downfall. All of us wanted to make a good clan or get into a well established one but that’s when we come across the real exam of our gaming life . The first one was obviously patience !!! When we have a team , victory never comes easy , as an individual player no matter how strong we are , but the team gains success only when all 5 start working together , which probably is not the scene here, at least in my known circle xD. Practicing together , understanding each other , coordinating with each other , listening to the one who has more knowledge than you (apparently most of us don’t wanna listen to other person because we think WE know whats best ) and of course accepting the defeat. Demos and POV’s have been more of like ‘PORNS’ for us.Watch one every night, before you go to sleep. We’ve heard someone somewhere say “Abey chodh na , itni tension kyu le raha hai , its just a game” and seen the same person crying over it and working hard day and night to overcome the flaws .

We’ve seen team manipulations , brainwashing your enemies while showing yourself as their friend at that same point of time and eventually, breaking the clan apart, because you cant see any one rise above you that easy. We’ve seen so much of politics in this game. We’ve spent money on traveling to other states and cities just to experience the better half of Indian Gaming and grab some good things from them. We’ve had dreams full of ak47 and m4 firings where either we are killing someone or someone is killing us and of course most of us have made strategies in our dreams and also tried to apply it .

Counter Strike has been such an important part of our lives , someway somehow some of us had to leave because of our jobs or maybe it didn’t work out well for us , or maybe some or the other person demotivated us to the core where we broke down completely and had to quit. Very few of us play for the team , that’s where the key to success comes , when all stick together and play as ONE SINGLE UNIT. Alas, most of us fail then and there . Later we realize that its not our personal interest, We win with the Team; We lose with the team. We individually make no difference , its our team which we have to support and have faith on . All of us have been so attached to this game and still we say “Its just a game” …………. May be its just BEYOND the game
